Girl Scout Cookies
Girl Scout Cookies.
I see a lot of home made signs on the side of the road announcing they have Girl Scout Cookies for sale. So far, I have four boxes of Tagalongs. Boy, am I gonna be sick!

I like the chocolate dipped peanut butter ones, whatever those are called.
The peanut butter sandwich ones are good too. I also remember when you got 3 tubes of Thin Mints instead of two tubes for HALF THE PRICE. I don't mind prices having to go up, but it really ticks me off when they increase the price when they reduce the product size. Do one or the other. Doing both is a rip-off.

I like the Samoas and the toffee ones. I could probably chomp down a whole box of Samoas in one sitting--especially if they've been chilled.

Good point Jeffy….better chilled.
Give me a 1/2 Gallon of good Chocolate WHOLE Milk (Guernsey Farms is the BEST) to wash 'em down too....Yum ! Not a healthy low-sugar snack by any means, but definitely one I could express the VIRTUE of GLUTTONY with...

At least they don't keep using the full sized packaging while putting in smaller items. They scallop bars of soap, put tiny Reeses cups in, etc. while packaging them in big loose wrappers to make them look like they didn't change sizes.

Give me the ORIGINAL amount of product back even if it means $5 per box.
I don't want to buy 3 boxes of cookies to get the former content of two boxes. I used to buy a case of their cookies each year. The content shrinkage is really annoying, to the point I just don't support them anymore.

About 7-8 years ago Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts were roughly $2.50 for a 2 1\2 lb. jug.
Within a few months the size/weight changed by approx 6 ounces but "same price." The same rose to $5 about 6 months later . I'd guess it's inflation. Unfortunately, they don't point all of this out but I read the labels. Bob p.s. I mix house brand unsalted, and salted peanuts with Planters Deluxe mixed nuts (the jug that contains cashews, pecans, pistachios, etc.) That jug is about $17 for the 2lb. 2oz. pkg.

Here in Canada the "Girl Guides" have had a similar program for a number of years now to sell their branded cookies door-to-door to make money to fund their operations. Unfortunately declining enrollment combined with growing social concern for the safety of the participants themselves had already led to a notable decrease in the opportunities to avail oneself of the perennially popular cookies (the cream filled were the absolute best!!), and then when Covid came along it looked like it was game over. But then someone had the bright idea to approach the grocery stores (whether at the local, regional, provincial or national level I really don't know), and so lately I was delighted to find them prominently displayed for sale in a number of different supermarkets. A great idea, and everyone's a winner -- the Guides, the merchants, the customers... and yes, probably the diabetes clinicians and educators too! (I'm type 2, BTW)

I buy boxes of the mints, then freeze a couple of boxes for later. Ohhh, so good with a cold glass of milk! I can eat one sleeve (then have a nice belly ache).
