There is NO POSSIBLE WAY it is 3/16" thick. Maybe 3/32 but NOT 3/16".

I built mine in 1980 and the fins are 3/32".

I built one for a friend 3 months ago and they were 3/32". I remember that for sure because the die-crushed fins were so roached out I had to recut them from a fresh blank of 3/32".
