They should have just let them all run.
The SOHC should have at least been factory installed in production Fairlanes or Galaxies. NASCAR has become so cookie-cutter spec now, it's not even worth watching. Competition Cautions, 3-stages of race with each having a winner, pit speed limits, restrictor plates on induction, and the myriad of engine restrictions of parts, required ride height, etc ALL STINK. They are hell-bent on eliminating all innovation. I'd like to see them go back to the 60's run-whatcha-brung rules with basically just a 7-Litre displacement limit, FACTORY front-engine V8 RWD configuration. That would give brand "T" the BOOT right there. Bring brand "D" back. Was sad to see them go, just like when Pontiac and Buick left. When brand "T" was let in, I almost boycotted right there. Things they should adopt from Formula 1: 1) Eliminate full-course cautions or issue a red flag. No more races counting laps under full course caution/yellow flag. Laps under yellow are NOT racing. 2) Start the race from a stand-still HOLESHOT start of the grid just like Formula 1. None of all those boring pace laps.

When in doubt, WHACK the GAS and DITCH the brake !!! Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't ! Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY. ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC ! |

And stay with no forced induction since we are running 7L V8's. There's a tried and true saying about forced induction. Build a great normally aspirated engine and it will be a great super/turbocharged engine! Keep the innovation in those heads, etc.

Welcome to YORF, we're pretty much all BARs here. Be sure to post builds & stories, and beware that some threads veer far off topic.
