Well, I missed something here ?! Me and Harold write each other most Every Day for some 8+ years now. He is my best friend and understands my sense of humor. I normally put a set of eyes after my jestful posts like this ( OO ). He knows them and me very well.

I stared life with Estes and have always been partial to them, but I remember getting the Centuri catalogs (and purchasing a few). For some reason, I always liked, but never bought a Javelin. Not sure why. I would circle it in every catalog but wind up buying something else. Of course, at that age cash was scarce.

The Centuri Javelin was the first model rocket that I built. That was in December of 1966, I built and painted the Javelin on the day before Christmas and we launched it twice Christmas day at about 11:00 AM. The Javelin flew to about 500-600 Ft. and that was on an A.8-4 engine. there was snow on the ground and the Jade green paint was very easy to see. I don't know what became of that Javelin, I have some real old rockets that go back to those days, but Don't know about the Javelin.

A Javelin was the second rocket I built in 1967. An Estes Alpha was my first the same year. |

The Catalogs are all I have left

These day's My right leg don't work and I cannot walk, my hands shake and some days I cannot pick things up. but I still love to look at my catalogs and dream. the 1966 Centuri catalog was the first one that I had and the 1966 Centuri catalog that I have now had once belonged to Carl so it gives me an extra deep feeling just to hold that book in my hand.

I guess we’re just two of a kind. This week my pain levels were so high I was in bed. Got up briefly today, hurting bad now. Did a post on the Centuri IRIS, no telling how long it will take. You sent pics of a few kits I lost in the mix. Sure want that Javelin. Forgot what the other was. Anyway, just rambling,,, still...hoping......

I hope both of you guys feel better soon.
Living with pain stinks... I have a low tolerance for pain. Recently had to have a BOATLOAD of painful dental work done. Thankfully my dentist is a personal friend and poker buddy as well; he kept me WELL medicated and out-of-pain for the procedures.
