Estes Bandit (K-48) measurement needed
Does anybody have a measurement of the Estes Bandit fin root edge?
I have a printout from Jim Z's and want to make sure it is to scale before I do a BT-60 upscale. There is no 1" measurement on Jim Z print. Thanks!

just measured my vintage builtup beater and I agree with 2 9/16 as a correct root length
Look forward to seeing your upscale. One of my favorite rockets ( our NAR team in the 80s was ' the Boostin Bandits " ) |

That’s awesome, will you upscale the baffle? Seems like a good workout for a paper punch.

No baffle on this one - I wasn't a big fan of that baffle - The ejection charge goes up the center tube, hits a wall, goes through side holes, Down again, hits another wall, goes into more holes, Then continues up the outside to eject the parachute. I was more partial to the simpler Centuri style baffle.

The original baffle works well - I made mine on my clone with light ply rings, has held up well so far.
My original vintage beater, slated for restore, the baffle has long ago burned through and been torn out - when I rebuild ( needs splice anyways due to crimp ), will be using the centuri style baffle. |
