I did finally snag another Xacto catalog that I did not have. I think it has been almost a year since a ‘new to us’ Xacto catalog has presented itself for purchase. This latest one is the ‘72-73 catalog.
I’ll probably receive it in about a week and will scan and forward on to Scot for posting here. Earl

Just picked up a Vintage complete excellent condition #99 3-panel set on ebay for the bargain price of $200 !!!
I tried avoiding it, but just HAD to have it ! Probably the last major addition to my collection. If one of those fully-stocked miniature bench displays ever came up, I'd have to get that. Still looking for #7kp, 5L, and 6L handles. I could get the #5L and #6L handles in that #98 Leathercraft set that has been on ebay for almost a year, but not willing to pay the $195 for just those handles.

I had this one on my watch list for nearly two weeks now I guess and was surprised it lasted as long as it did. It was a nice set. A bit pricey at the original asking price, but glad you got them down to a more reasonable $200. I just did not need this one, but was going to see how long it lasted before someone picked it up. It appeared to be basically unused from what I could tell. Some tape still visible from the factory to hold items in place in the cabinet. I think there were a couple changeable heads for the hammer missing, but not sure. Maybe they were in some of the nooks and crannies somewhere. Not hard to replace though if they are missing. Earl

Had to grab it for the centerpiece of my collection.
It will get used however. Will use the drawer in it to store all my spare blade paks. Will add a #6 "Big honker" handle, #4 Handle, #9 handle, and a Mitre box. Been waiting for one of these for a while at a reasonable price. The last one sold for like $400.

Looks like the seller made a mistake on the the year for the catalog. It was not the 72-73 catalog; it turned out to be a 71-72 year catalog, which we have already. Sorry. I'll keep looking for others.... Earl

My #99 set arrived today.
All the tools are in unused pristine condition. The hammer has all 6 heads. The magnesium C-clamps have white oxidation on them that will be quickly removed by a brass brush in my cordless Dremel. This set appears to have just set on a shelf unused for 50 years. The wood cabinet was not originally built with enough glue. All shelves loose with 2 "unmounted". I have reinforced and filleted all glue joints and remounted the two detached shelves with Titebond III. The cabinet is genuine 100% Mahogany wood. Going to let it dry overnight before installing all tools, plus a #6 handle, #4 handle, a mitre box, #33 big honker blade, and a spoke shave. Interestingly enough, this giant set did not come with a spoke shave. The cabinet is gigantic compared to my #89 sets. Great value for the $200 I spent. It was $60 in 1971, which adjusted for inflation is WAY more than the $200.

Got the tools in the cabinet tonight.
Will take some pix tomorrow and post. It's a good'n. Too busy tonight using my vintage Bally Astrocade home arcade system. I really like their home version of Wizard of Wor.
