FSI ignitors were a length of a thermalite-like fuse that had nichrome wrapped around the fuse in a spiral fashion. On top of that was a fabric wrap. You would remove the fabric wrap and fold the wires out a little at one end so it would 'grip' when you inserted it in the nozzle. Attach clips to the bottom (exposed) part of the fuse.

They also sold electric matches for the F100 and E60 which would result in faster ignition than the regular fuse ignitors.

I used to like to fly modified Estes Omegas on D12-0/E5-6. I would put the igniter in the E5 to ensure it would start after the D12 booster kicked away. The upper stage would coast for a second or so before the E5 lit up. Always looked spectacular.
