The Estes 1964 catalog is not really rare. There is a decent population of them and they come up for auction at a reasonable frequency, such that if a collector wanted one, he would just need to be patient. For a guy who is REALLY into collecting Estes catalogs, there are four or five distinct versions of that catalog (there were minor changes made before each new printing). The truly RARE version of the catalog is the 1964 Blue, the cover of which was printed with blue ink rather than the brown ink on all of the other varieties. I suspect that the Blue version was the first printing, since the blue ink was identical to that used on the 1963 catalog. I'm betting that after the first printing Vern just decided it was time for a change.........

While still a chunk of change, this one did not go for quite as much as I thought it might. Final bid was $330. This one had some rough pages in it (marks and such), so that probably pulled down the value some. Still, a rare piece that does not come up very often.

He owned several pinball games and pool tables. At his house in Michigan, He had 3-4 Machines and 2 pool tables in his basement. When his kids grew up and went to collage the machines set so long that some of them stopped working. He asked me if I wanted any of them. I thought about it for 2 seconds and said No, I don't know what happened to the machines , as that was 40 years ago. And I did not have time to try ad move them, my side hustle then was buying classic cars in Florida and driving them to Detroit to sell, I wonder why those cars where so profitable ?

My Pinball and Arcade machines all WORK and provide entertainment.
They have also went up in value.
You can't touch any decent modern (1980's +) popular pinball machine for under $2500 now.
New pinball machines cost $7500+ now.

I will reiterate my previous statement. Catalogs are advertising. Maybe worth a few bucks due to nostalgia value but not the insanity of hundreds of $$.
