Kitbash the new Estes 29mm kits!
Kitbashing is a tried and true art form. Using specific kits one can make a variety of variants. For example if a TARC team were to enter a second event while at the finals, perhaps it could be kitbash.
Principles: 1. Use supplied kit parts only. Use as many kits per team as the rules or sponsors allow. 2. Reward moving parts, flight events, creativity, and some arbitrary measure of performance. Judging will be difficult. Maybe we should just post ideas to this thread. Jerry |

Cool thread
I'm fixing to do a bash between Big Birtha fins and a 36 D squared kit. I don't know why but I'd think it would look cool. Take care, Jeff

Semroc has sponsored the Model Rocket Building Competition at TARC for the past two years. It is a really a kitbash from a set of parts (TARC-1) that we provide to each team that enters.
We had 20 entries the first year and 32 entries this year. Each team has 70 minutes to design and build a rocket from the parts. Entries are based on craftsmanship and originality and two cash prizes are awarded. It is a load of fun watching the wheels turn when the youth teams shake the stuff out of the bags and work together to come up with great designs. I had forgotten how kids under pressure can group think, delegate, assign tasks, and formulate a completed product within a deadline. I have worked with many groups of adults over the years that could not do that!

BTW, Bunny (GuyNoir) can tell you about judging them.
