Default Astrobee 350

Title: Astrobee 350

Kit number: KV-13

Background Information brief: The Astrobee 350 was initially released in the 1965 Centuri catalog as a true scale design based on a 50 foot tall sounding rocket. Beginning in the 1971 Catalog, the name was changed to the Aerobee 350. The new design incorporated some ribs like the Aerobee-Hi, but the original Catalog Number remained the same. It was an excellent beginner kit, sharing many parts with the later Astro-1. The Astrobee 350 was Centuri #KC-5 and was introduced with a price of $2.00.
The @ Astrobee 350 is based on the early Centuri Astrobee 350 and is updated by replacing the pre-printed fins with precision laser-cut fins. The original balsa nose cone and body tube sizes are used.

Designer: unknown

Release Date: Shortly before 03/28/2004

In Production: 2004-2014

Text of release announcement 3/28/2004:
Semroc has recently released five new kits and many new parts. The first new kit for 2004 is the ThunderBee. It is the first and smallest in the “Thunder” family.

Semroc's Retro-Repro Firefly is based on the 1968 Centuri Engineering model that was the “smallest two-stage rocket in the world” at the time using the Shorty model rocket engines. The Semroc Firefly has adapters to convert mini-engines (“T”) into Shorty engines. It can be flown as a single stage rocket.

The Semroc Retro-Repro Goliath is an improved model based on the original Semroc Goliath from 1969. It can be built as a single standard engine model, three standard engine cluster, or single 24mm D engine model.

The Semroc Retro-Repro Javelin is based on the 1965 Centuri Engineering model that was a great entry level kit.

The Semroc Retro-Repro Astrobee 350 is based on the original 1965 Centuri Engineering scale model.

The ST-20 Body Tubes and couplers are released. Three of the Centuri Large-Scale tubes are released for cloning now and future Large-Scale kits. Nose cones are being added as they become available.

Thanks for your support. Please continue to let us know ways that we can improve our product line and service.

Again, not at the desired resolution nor ruler on scan bed.

I scanned these way back in 2008 as tiff files so I just converted them now to JPG.
