Updated Design -- MARK IIIB
Thanks to Jay for helping bring this design back into my foreground. To be honest, the original MARK III design was one of my "pre-Rocksim" works, and actually goes back a bit farther than 2006 - by at least a year. It was also not the best design in terms of recovery numbers. The original design, IIRC, had very high Dv numbers even on modest B power.
As I looked at Jay's MARK IV revision, I thought about what the design might look like stretched into a long-body model. The overall appearance is improved, I think; the black-and-silver color scheme is just right on a longer design. So, I introduce to you... the MARK IIIB, a 29.59" version of the earlier MARK III. The main body is a full 18", and it now has a 6" payload section. The fins were enlarged to adjust the drag and slow the model down a bit over the top. Length: 29.59" Diameter: 1.04" (ST-10) Fin Span: 6.45" Weight: 1.66 oz A8-3......150'......Dv 17 FPS......31" guide length B4-4......391'......Dv 19 FPS......23" guide length B6-4......400'......Dv 18 FPS......27" guide length C6-5......895'......Dv 20 FPS......27" guide length Enjoy!
