One of the interesting aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA - Obamacare) is the change of theory of care from the hypocratic to the veterinary style. Now before we get into the treating people like cattle meme and hyperbole, there are hype neutral reasons to consider this. They happen to have budget or fiscal advantages. They also resemble the "death panels" that are overstated.
Once you take away the absolute requirement to preserve life under all circumstances despite the wishes of the family or the patient, you open the possibility for more frequent withholding of treatments or extreme treatments after a series of events have occurred. It also opens the possibility to discuss euthanasia under some limited circumstances. Good, bad or indifferent this change of philosophy will be consequential on several levels. Jerry |

You didn't have to say it. It's inherent in your veneration of 19th century robber baron capitalism.
Haven't seen a park bench in years. Nice sturdy house. Built in the 1920's. You seem to be overly familiar with park benches. Quote:

Its just a simple disagreement and my opinion. You numbers are false. It's not credible to should use your worldview for what Patriotism was and ought be to others of any generation, oh yes, even to New Englanders. As to your recent post we all live with consequences of life every day, and we don't live in fear of that fact. In fact its the opposite. We thrive. The people will have their say, and they weren't happy before about fixing a broken system, and none here are afraid to fundamentally change things to aspire for the better. There will be flaws, as everyone anticipates this inevitability, as usual... EDIT: Prognostication of doom and gloom is neither helpful and is indicative of a new minority of conservatives, who have lost their political voice ( some for the first time perhaps) as newer generations continue to push further on with the evolution of this country. UH is not just policy(s), but are basic human needs that are being challenged as apolitical. The same with water. Water has been commodified by the agreed countries in the UN just a few years ago, that will be changed too. To have access to water is challenged as a basic human right.

The entire taxation structure in this country is WAY out of whack.
It all needs a GIANT enema to flush out all the crap and the fecal-minded bureaucrats that go with it.. If we only had a say 20% Federal corporate tax, 15% Federal income tax, and a 3% State income tax on EVERYONE with ZERO write-offs with NO other taxes or gov't fees on ANYTHING for any reason it would be fair, and easy to understand. No stinkin property tax, phone tax, excise tax, sales tax, license plate tax/fee, drivers licens fee, fuel/utility tax, no un-funded federal mandates, no federal coercion/extortion of states to release OWED federal monies, no airline safety fee tax, and no more taxes/fees for anything for any reason INCLUDING supposed 'temporary emergencies' which was what income tax was for in the first place. ENOUGH is ENOUGH and this federal health care is just more of the same crap we don't need. If you have not earned it and can't afford it, you have NO right to think you deserve it. I would eliminate about 75+% of all federal agencies by refusing to fund them. Any budget on my desk that included funding for those agencies would be vetoed until they are weeded out of the budget. NO JOKE.

Not with the park bench per say, just the lunatics that occupy them. Imagining themselves to be Socrates or Plato, that sort of thing. Blowhards and know-it-alls with no credentials. When the libs opened the doors to the asylums, many of these poor souls flocked to park benches and used them as podiums. Now they use the internet. The pigeon crap is still white. I appreciate the energy put into this, but these are NOT sources of information. You need credible sources if you wanted to pursue this line of research. These are media sources (mediated, adulaturated--hence the word usage). As such these simply do not qualify. This is, and the distinction between business and corporatism is the other fundamental difference I have with folks on this forum. These two are stumbling blocks for interesting or at least palatable discussion.

The only successful debates have points of initial agreement, agreements of scope, and what to do with items outside of scope, some rules, and probably the most important thing of all is the looser buys the beer.
