This is really heartbreaking news. I believe SEMROC has been one of the cornerstones of our hobby in recent years. It was always enjoyable to stop in the SEMROC tent at NARAM and just gab about rockets.

Bruce and Sheryl have certainly been hit with a series of misfortunes no family should have to deal with and we know you have battled furiously to keep Carl's vision alive. But getting healthy and recovering day-to-day well-being for the sake of your family has to come first and nobody would begrudge that.

I hope Carl's ideas will continue to live on and in some way, shape or form, some versions of his vision for model rocketry can continue on in the future, maybe offered by other vendors. There is a market out there waiting to be served.

Default Future of Semroc

If you have an order saved, there will be a chance that you will not receive your full order. Our system lets you order items even when they are out of stock if your order is saved. Carl was never able to find the time to fix this problem.

We are getting orders out as they come but please have patience. May not be able to get them out that day or the next.

Sheryl

I know how issues mess with a small company. Thanks for your friendship and hope to run into you down the road.

Best wishes. I am truly sad to see this company close. I still have a nice selection of Semroc kits to build, but there were so many more I had on my wish list. Good luck in all that you do.

Thank you for getting me back into this wonderful hobby and for all the Cub & Boy Scouts who have had their imaginations ignited through the "Boids" they have built. I wish your family well. "Fair Winds & Following Seas"

Bruce and Sheryl, please don't be strangers- you're family and we love y'all!

All good things must come to an end, and Semroc was made the best.

I won't try to repeat all that has already been said, only Thank You, Bless You, and Good Luck as time goes on.

The outpouring of respect, gratitude and sympathy are all understandable and I'm sure most welcome. I first met Carl 12 years ago at NARAM 43 and I miss him so very much. Not just for rocket kits and part, I just miss Carl.

Is there anything we as a rocket community can do to save the institution of SEMROC?

Could we organize something to save what's there?

We all owe SEMROC a debt for what they have done for the hobby. We have a lot of knowledgeable people here.

Granted I personally am about 16 hours away by car although I have made the trip there.
Probably just east coast members. Heck, decal customers will be willing to wait if I volunteer a couple of days to drive out there to pitch in.

Maybe volunteer a few days just to shore up and prep SEMROC for "storage" or sale, whatever Bruce and Sheryl would want us to do so it's not lost.

We owe at least that much to Carl, Sheryl, Bruce and family.

This would have to all be run past Bruce and Sheryl.

We just want to help.

I personally am not ready to let SEMROC just roll up and go away.

I found that I could catch "out of stock" items on saved orders by "updating" the order. Don't change the saved order in any way, just click the "update" key. If there is anything out of stock in your saved order, an error message screen appears. It won't tell you anything specific, but if you see the error message screen, you have one or more out of stock items in your saved order.
