I went to two Walmarts south of Austin, TX this weekend and they were both priced at $4.97. One was in San Marcos a little ways off of and to the east of IH35. The other one was in Kyle or maybe Buda. It's behind and HEB and across the street from Bill Miller BBQ.

They both had pretty good selections. I saw A8-3, B6-4 (a lot of these), C6-3, C6-5 and the one that surprised me, B4-4. I didn't see any T engines though.

I've had no luck lately finding discount motors at Wal-Mart...but...

While cleaning my shop I did find a Wal-Mart shoppping bag with 20 packs of C6-3's and C6-5's!

I asked my wife and she said, "Oh, those. I forgot to tell you about them. I got them for $1 a pack about a month ago and just put the bag in you Rocket room."

Wow, Gordon, you are a lucky man!

All my wife buys me is beer...and good beer at that!

Like the others, I feel obligated to ask if she has a sister...

You are one lucky man, Gordie!

My wife and I were down in Glens Falls, NY one day last week for a doctor's appointment. I stopped in the Walmart there after her appointment, and after a bit of searching through the Toy department, I found their Estes rocket section. They had boxes of the Customizer kit, a box full of Hijinks and Rascal RTFs, and a boxed set of two E2X models whose names I can't recall right now (they are not listed on the Estes web site). And... sitting all alone and forlorn on an otherwise bare stretch of the shelf, was one pack of A10-3T motors. The shelf sticker said $4.97. (I didn't have the heart, or the money to spare, to buy it.)

Yes, she does.

But she's married too.

Today, while on the way back to the office from a supplier, i visited an urban Wal-Mart that was dumping the motors last time I was there a few months ago. Today they had everything restocked except the motors, but the shelf sticker of $3 was still there. I'll bet they would have scanned at $1 if they were there.

I'll try again in 2 or 3 weeks when I must return there. I have my eye on several other locations for Thursday when I am driving all over.
