The Gleda Estes obituary is simply beautiful. She had a life well lived, well remembered, and well loved. It is a wonderful testimony of a wonderful woman. I am thankful to learn that she was a woman of faith who placed her full trust in the Lord and she was active in living out her faith, not ashamed of her Lord. The funeral service was today in Canon City, Colorado, at Evangelical Free Church. It is a lovely church. One of several where Gleda made quite an impact.

I know it will be difficult for Vern and the family in the coming days ahead without Gleda. They will need our continuing prayers of support. After nearly 73 years of marriage together, there will be a huge loss, but God's grace is sufficient and His Holy Spirit is our compassionate Comforter. Our Lord promises to be near to the broken-hearted and He is the God of all comfort. I know, because Christ lives in me and He has comforted me since my precious wife passed away more than 12 years ago in 2011. I still miss her dearly every day, but I know I will see her again in Heaven and there will be a great reunion! Praise God!

May God's comfort and peace and love surround the Estes family at this time and in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. For believers, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We know we will see our loved ones again who have died in Christ. All glory to God!

The Gleda Estes obituary at the link above, mentions, "In addition, a Celebration of Life in early August will be planned at a time convenient for her many rocket friends."

Also, under the Services tab on the Estes Industries memorial webpage for Gleda Estes, https://estesrockets.com/pages/gleda, they mention, "In addition to a private local service through Holt Funeral Home in Canon City, CO, a celebration of life will be held in conjunction with the National Association of Rocketry Annual Meet in early August, 2024 near Pueblo, Colorado."

On the NARAM-65 schedule at https://www.nar.org/site/naram-65/schedule/, it lists on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 6-7 pm, Estes Industries in Penrose, CO, will be hosting, "Gleda Estes Memorial - Join a heartfelt tribute to honor the life of Gleda Estes"

It will likely be a very touching, heartfelt service, which I very much hope to attend.

Prior to the Gleda Estes Memorial at Estes Industries on August 4, 2024, Estes Industries will also be giving free tours of the facility from 3-5 pm that day, much like they did in 2018 for NARAM-60, plus, they will be allowing individuals to bring and fly an Estes Alpha III at the Estes Headquarters launch site from 3-4 pm that day. It promises to be an awesome day!

How fitting, that the Gleda Estes funeral service was on 04/08 of this year, and now her memorial service at Estes Industries will be 08/04 of this year. It is like a perfectly balanced set of book ends that support a life well lived, well remembered, and well loved.
