That was kind of a surprise.

WOW !
That's a stumper...never heard of it. Every 6 months or so someone comes up with an Estes product that surprises me.... You could always try asking Mary Roberts at Estes if nobody here can provide the answer you need.

The finished product at the end of the instructions looks a lot like an Estes Sunbird.

Good catch. Even the fin decals are about the same.

Comparing the info linked above for the two, I'd say the 4H Blue Sky Club and Sunbird are exactly the same model, save for the livery.
John, now you're going to have to dig yours out and scan the fin and the decal - the latter so Gordy can reproduce it.

That was what caught my eye. I have a Sunbird that came in one of my Ebay veteran lots last spring, so I kinda cheated.

The last rocket my brother ever built was the Estes Sunbird when he was around age 13 in 1986.
He got involved in Tamiya R/C cars/trucks and a LOT of sports instead. He does still have that Sunbird along with a few other rockets on a shelf in his den. Possibly this next summer I will talk him into flying his old half-dozen or so rockets.

The fin sheet is originally from the Mini Mean Machine (Estes 0865) and uses 3/32" balsa. The scan from the Mini Mean Machine is on JimZ.

The Mini-Mean Machine was always a perplexing kit to me.
Would have made a lot more sense to make it BT-50 sized and 18mm powered. Making it that long in a BT-20 and only powered by a max A3-4T/A10-3T resulted in rather disappointingly low flights.
