Default Nike Nike Apache??

Has anyone seen information that a Nike Nike Apache sounding rocket was ever flown?

I've seen pics of a Nike Nike Cajun, but can find any references to what would be its slightly bigger sibling.

Charles,

I have never seen any data or photographs to indicate that a NIKE-NIKE APACHE ever existed.

Seems like they should have built one, but I have never heard of/seen one.

That's my thought; it seems like it -should- have be stacked and flown. But I haven't found a trace either.

Like a Terrier Nike Tomahawk. It makes sense to me - but I don't think it was flown.

Charles,

There was an HONEST JOHN NIKE TOMAHAWK . . . https://space.skyrocket.de/doc_lau_...ke_tomahawk.htm

However, Data is SCARCE . . . Naturally, I can supply data on both the HONEST JOHN and the NIKE TOMAHAWK . . . I am 99.9% sure that the Interstage Adapter for the HONEST JOHN to NIKE motor would be the same one used on the ARGO D-4 JAVELIN ( which I can also supply ).

I don't recall any indication that there ever was a Nike-Nike-Apache. Doesn't mean there never was one, but it doesn't mean there ever was one either. Truth be told, it's concievable I have something buried in my archives, but I can never remember what people are looking for online once I get home.

Ok, for clarity . . .

Both the HONEST JOHN and TAURUS booster are CASTOR boosters.

That will simplifiy data searches.

Thanks All.

I knew about the Taurus - and the Taurus Nike Tomahawk.

I hadn't planned on building a Taurus, though. I was working toward the Terrier versions of the Black Brants. At the scale I'm building my fleet, the Taurus would be 4 3/8". 4.5" tubing would be close enough for my goals - if I change my mind about skipping the Taurus.
