Roto-Rocket kits
I wanted to start a thread to talk about the history of the Roto-Rocket company. Very little is available online about them. RocketReviews.com says the company existed from 1970-86.
The kits they produced were: Roto Rocket (RR-1) Roto Rocket w/Booster (RR-2) Star Scan System {Kit} (SS-1) Star Banner (SB-1) Star Loader (SL-1) Star Streak (SS-0) Super Star (SS-2) (no photo available) Star Tracker (ST-1) Anyone know the name of the person behind this company or anything about it's history. Did they ever produce a catalog? Very interesting stuff. Steve |

Seems like there was an article in the NAR mag some number of years ago (10-15 maybe) about the guy who ran this company. Can’t think of his name right off hand, but seems it was not your run of the mill last name.
Some here probably know who it is. Earl

I may be getting confused with Kopter Rockets by Walter Senoski. I think he was the one written up in Sport Rocketry magazine.
Looks like Walter passed in 2016. Obit here: https://www.legacy.com/amp/obituari...butes/180893681 The two could be one and the same (Roto Rockets and Kopter Rockets), but I kinda doubt it. Earl

I either never new about Roto-Rockets, or I just mentally mixed it in as the same company as Kopter Rockets. Looking forward to the history.

I picked up a Star Scan on eBay back in 2002 or so. It's opened, but I've never quite had the stones to start on it. I was the only bidder.

I believe I have a Star Scan and RR-2 Roto Rocket 2-stage in my collection some where - I'll try to post some pics of front and back next time I run into them.
Never built either, but I seem to remember a friend building one and flying back in the 80's - |

I remember Kopter, but not Roto-Rocket.

I remember Walter Senoski selling his kits at the NARAM in 1975 in Orlando, FL. His kits were the Kopter Rotary Recovery Rockets - http://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/ca...er/kopterb.html

I bought and built a roto rocket back about 35 years ago. Launched it on a C6-3 and it flew well and deployed very well also. Then I flew it again on another C6 and a cato wrecked it. I never saw one again until now. I think I got it in a hobby shop in Ft. Worth.

All this talk has me thinking that the Star Scan System would be an interesting kit to fly this spring. I'm digging it out tonight.
