Exclamation New Design -- Tau Astra

It looks like this is a design that either never got posted, or the post is so deeply buried, it might as well be lost. It has relatively good performance and altitude...

It also uses the SLS version of the Tau nose cone...

Length: 33.51"
Diameter: 1.84" (BC-225103)
Fin Span: 11.60"
Weight: 6.81 oz

Launch rod: 48" x 3/16"

D12-5.......548'......Dv 14 FPS
D15-6T......699'......Dv 27 FPS......Reef the parachute
E18-8......1627'......Dv 27 FPS......Reef the parachute

Enjoy!

No, and yes...

I just looked at the SEMROC parts page to find this one. It's been so long since I worked this one up, I forgot that the BC-225103 is just a standard ogive, an upscale of the classic 50Y shape. Carl might one day work up a Tau cone in this size range, but he doesn't have this one yet. You will need to take a matching transition and remove the shoulder from the large end, remove the shoulder from the nose cone, and glue the two together.
