Sounds great, Earl.
I was going to ask you if you hauled anything new in.
That 1960 one will be a good addition to an era with little information.
Still hoping you find something pre-WWII.

Not as of yet, but is slated to be here in the next day or two. Will take a few days to get it scanned and then I’ll forward to Scott for posting.

And...the catalog arrived today. I’ll work on scanning the next few days as time permits.

Thanks for hosting all these for us Scott.

Of the catalogs we have so far, coming up from the 1949 catalog, this 1960 catalog features the first appearance of the 'slide top' knifes sets #84 and 85 (page 7). Since we don't have any catalogs from the latter 50s yet, those sets could have first appeared in that time frame possibly.

Also (again coming up from the earlier catalogs), this is the first appearance of individual tools available on shrink-wrapped yellow and red striped cards (pages 10-11). My very first Xacto knife, the #8, came from Centuri on that type of shrink wrapped card. It cost 29 cents!

Finally, note that Xacto inadvertently reversed the graphics for the #82 and 83 knife sets at the bottom of page 6.

The #1G and #2G retractable blade knives look really cool.
Must be very rare. Never heard of them, will add to my list of wanted items.

No #89 and #99 chests in this catalog.

Are you referring to the two knives on page 5? I think those are listed as 1G and 2G. But, I’ve never heard or seen them before, either. Must not have been around long at all.

Still keeping and eye open for additional Xacto catalogs, but nothing new in several months now. There is a 1966 Krylon paint catalog on eBay right now and it is up to $100 already! I'm glad the Xacto catalogs don't seem to go for quite that price! They are generally around $20-$25 or so.
