Those wide #24 blades were last made in the 70's and only very rarely are on ebay, usually in a set. I like them more than the current #24 due to more cutting area. I only own 2 of them, and keep them well honed to a surgical quality sharp edge.

I would have never thought that an X-acto knife thread would go over 200 posts.
This thread has some sharp comments.

I agree. Hobby within a hobby.
Some of the tools are just really neat.
My favorite is the #6.

And so, what is your 'point'?

Earl

(I'm sorry if my comments sound like they have a bit of an 'edge' to them, but I just can't help myself... )

GH and Steve-

I mentioned in an email to Sue here a couple days ago or so that I got that 1978 Xacto catalog a couple weeks ago. I'll scan it all (I've only just started the first few pages) and email it to you just for info. Good to see some of the product and packaging designs to be able to better date some of the Xacto items that come up for purchase.

Especially helpful is the last page of the catalog with provides a cross reference between the 'old' Xacto part numbers and the 'new' (probably computer based) part numbers they were switching to at the time.

Steve, I don't have your email address. If you want, send me a PM with it and I'll add you to that distribution list.

I'll probably have it done maybe sometime towards the end of this next coming week.

Earl

Hey, that's a pretty good one...I'll have to 'file' that away for future use!

Ya know, some of these are just 'plane' funny!
