Bill-
Your launch blogs are very entertaining, especially for those of us that have very few launch opportunities. One of these times I'm going to have to load up the car with a ton of unlaunched ones and come to a Dayton launch. It's not too far of a drive, I guess. I really miss the days when I could launch all the way through small-H-power in my back yard that bordered a large 500+ acre soybean farm. Back in the day, several suppliers of motors would sell single H and I motors to individuals if you said it was for a "cert" flight. I "certified" several times with H128's in my own back yard. A single H128 is way less power than 2 G80's in a cluster which one can fly without any cert. I never even had to chase my own rockets. The neighborhood kids of our subdivision were always willing to chase the rockets on Sunday afternoons. The subdivision had large lots of at least 3/4 of an acre. The 5 northern-most homes all bordered the soybean farm. The farmer gave me permission to recover rockets in his field. He even didn't care if I rode my RM250 out to grab em.

When in doubt, WHACK the GAS and DITCH the brake !!! Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't ! Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY. ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC ! |

I was actually thinking about doing a cert on an H128 in the Mega Red Max this Saturday for flight #200. Not thinking that will be the case at this point, but I do have one of the old Estes G motors that I think should easily launch my old MadCow Army Hawk. I also plan to fly both my Lil Nuke, last flown in 2002, and the Ninja upscale. I just have to order a couple of F20s from Randy to pick up on the way to the cornfield.
