Release announcement email (Semroc Minute 9) 7/17/2011:
Semroc has released five new kits for NARAM-53. The Retro-Repro™ Moon Glo™ is released in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Rocket Development Corporation by Irv Wait in Utah in 1961. It was their first model rocket kit and like many of Irv's other creations and inventions, broke the mold for how model rocketry was supposed to be. The larger-than-life fins and zany nose cone made the Moon Glo a popular kit at RDC and requests for its recreation have been heard at Semroc.
As our celebration of 50 years of RDC, Semroc will send a free kit with each order over $35.00 and hand out free Moon Glo's to each customer at NARAM-53, while supplies of the first 150 last!

The popular Retro-Repro™ Shrike™ is based on a design by John Simmance that has been long in its careful recreation at Semroc. It is the second most requested kit on our web site and is highly popular when one becomes available on eBay. Featuring two-stage design with several debossed wraps, the Shrike is both a builder's model and a great performer. It has a clear payload section, laser-cut fins and precision manufactured balsa nose cone and coupler. Using more widely available booster engines, the Shrike will be a great addition to your two-stage models.
The Deci-Scale™

Aerobee 150™ is a 1/10 scale of the
popular sounding rocket designed by Aerojet General. The line began as the Aerobee-Hi and later was renamed to the Aerobee 150. This model is the starting point for your recreation of any of the over half million launches of this popular design. It is a sport scale so it does not have the booster that was normally to launch the original. This model is 24mm engine ready for C11's and D12's. It is 2 1/2 feet tall so it will be a great addition to your Deci-Scale™ family.

The 1/3 scale Arcas™ is a recreation of an Atlantic Research sounding rocket that is smaller than our SLS
Arcas. It uses standard engines but keeps the scale boat tail and fins for a highly detailed model. At almost 2 1/2 feet tall, the Arcas will be one of your most admired models.

The Baby Orion™ is a half scale version of the Centuri Orion™. It uses standard mini-engines when you want to fly in smaller fields. Seven balsa nose cones helps preserve the look and feel of its larger brother. It is small and almost too pretty to fly, but you won't be able to resist.
