I've always found it interesting that the Centuri Egg Crate was cataloged for just a single year, 1971, apparently first available in 1970. I wonder if it was built more commonly as a 2- or 3-engine cluster. Meanwhile, the Estes Scrambler (clear payload, supeirior?) was in the early years of its 8 year run. The (Centuri) Egg Crate was a cardboard, paper transition and balsa NC payload system at a time when Centuri/Enerjet was developing the robust plastic egg capsule - which never did appear in a Centuri-branded model. The capsule came and went with Enerjet (same model name of course) and did not reappear for Estes until 1988.
