I have a two-week long job in Edmonton next month. It may be snowing already by then.

The scavenger is a 24 mm engine BT-60 3-fin and a nosecone rocket. The body tube is two pieces with a coupler. The fin unit gets a short piece. On mine the glue grabbed on the coupler before I had the upper piece fully seated so I had a gap to fill. Next week I will post a better photo ( you are right, in the family portrait it does look a little weird like it has a boattail). Yep, old fart gravity swing in the background. The wood swing frame in the far background is now completed and the the seats are hanging from that now. I took the metal frame apart since I do not need that now. We had a larger swingset up until it was crushed by our ash tree in the derecho last year in that spot. It stopped the tree from going all the way through the wall and into our dining room. |

Two photos of the Scavenger. Second one shows that it is not so much a boat tail bottom.

This weeks completions: Estes Antar, Quest Aerobee Hi, Semroc Firefly and Astro Jr.
Lessons learned; the Antar is a complicated paint job which I gave up on masking the top of the wings for the Forest Green; if the can of white Rustoleum Professional White paint looks old, it is old and do not use it, and be careful sanding fins when attached to the rocket or you will crack it like I did to the Astro Jr. Oh, Future applied over acrylic paint can cause the paint to dissolve/run. I have an Interceptor that needs decals applied, a Gemini DC and Photon Disruptor in paint, a Stealth and Mountainside V-2 in build, and a Semroc Starship Vega and Estes Starship Nova that I just opened the bags and scanned the parts.
