Default Barry Tunick Wants to Talk.

Yup, following up on what Shread-Fred usually has to say - something to the effect of "what did they say when you called them?" I e-mailed, Estes to express both some appreciation for their new releases and some 'constructive dissatisfaction' with their lack of 50th Anniversary kits/support of events.

Well over the weekend I got a personal e-mail back from Barry Tunick asking me for my contact information and if he could call and talk direct to me about my e-mail. We've arranged to talk on Wednesday. I've expressed I'm not looking for an explanation as to why they haven't engaged the 50th anniversary of model rocketry - I was simply stating that I was diappointed in their approach/support to this golden celebration.

Should be interesting . . .

Oh, I think that'd be a hit - due post!!!

If nothing else, I'd like to see the 'one-line' answer and imagine what the manifesto did say.

Default Re: Anniversary or Not?

I find it VERY strange that back in 1988, Estes Industries celebrated 30 years of model rocketry & even issued some of us 'diehards' anniversary lapel pins. When I asked the education department director what was being planned for year number 50, I was told simply "I’m not sure what is being done for the 50th anniversary yet. I’ll let you know when I hear something." Nothing yet...

I'd go to great lengths to avoid bringing that up.

A day after you visited?

OK, what did you do?
