NASA Group 2 astronaut Thomas P. Stafford has passed away. He was 93. Stafford flew both Gemini and Apollo missions and wrapped up his astronaut career with the final flight of Apollo, the Apollo-Soyuz mission. He was the commander and last surviving member of the Apollo 10 mission.

With his passing Jim Lovell is the last surviving Group 2 astronaut, probably the best overall group of astronauts ever selected by NASA.
