Wow, the one I was watching (not bidding) just went for $221. There is another at $150 with 3 days left.

About 20 years ago, I bought a whole case of 1284 Shuttle kits from a hobby shop that was going out of business (the kit was already OOP). Gradually sold them on ebay - typical price was around $50-$60, although toward the end a few topped $100.
Sounds like I should have hung on to them for a while

I know what you mean. I bought a PILE of SR 71 kits when they first went OOP for the final time and sold all but one for very little profit. I REALLY wish I?d sat on those rascals for a while!

There is an opened Estes Space Shuttle #1284 that looks complete, and has a low starting bid, up for sale here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2260004640...486.c101224.m-1

This is not my listing, nor do I know the seller.

Kind regards,

There are a few on ebay today, all STARTING at $200 or more.
Kit is NOT rare at all. Wait and prices will drop.
Pure insanity.
