Making my own igniter plugs
Attached is a photo at my 1st attempt at making
My own custom igniter plugs. It uses a thermoplastic plastic that is Heated in water for 2-3 minutes At 150 F. The igniters I'm using are the MJG bp igniters. I hope to get some of the plastic A little up into the bottom nozzle area. The igniter head sits right up against the BP so it always ignites. And the plastic is hard compared to the Estes plugs This fits in 1/4a,1/2a,and A Estes engines. Still got a lot of R&D abd testing to do.

For the MJG BP igniters, a bunch of in North Texas are just using poster putty over the igniter and nozzles. Sometimes with a little tape over the whole assembly. I gave five igniters to a friend who used stirring straws like the Q2G2 igniters. I have done 3 and 4 motor igniters and another section member does 7 motors that way.
Interested to see how you plugs work. Chas

I need to try the putty and stirring straw tricks - these igniters work great, but my usual method of balling up a little wadding doesn't work very well, at least in C6 nozzles.
I still miss Q2G2s, they worked so well, and the red straw retainer was the easiest ever design to use.
