Thrustline Aerospace Alien Troop Mover Plans
The link below will take you to the plans for the Alien Troop Mover kit.
Each plan set also includes a RockSim file for the kit. That's a good thing since nowhere could I find a parts list of tubing type, length, etc. I'd appreciate it if someone with RockSim or OpenRocket will give me a hand by adding a reply to this post listing the parts type/size you extract from the RockSim file. If you could include the templates from the RockSim file I'd appreciate that as well. http://www.oldrocketplans.com/tla/T...Troop_Mover.zip These Thrustline Aerospace plans are for PERSONAL USE ONLY! John Rowan-Stern and Thrustline Aerospace reserves all commercial use rights.

OK - here's the OpenRocket "design report" and such for the Alien Troop Mover. I spent a little time with the .ork file getting the motor block and hook in the right place and taking off the CG overrides on some components. I also set the fin stock to 1/8 inch balsa because what was in the .rkt file was halfway between 3/32 and 1/8 and from the stacked fins picture in the .zip file they look to be at least 1/8 inch thick. This would make sense for a BT-70-based 24mm motor mount rocket.
The nose cone in the pictures in the .zip package is more tapered than the elliptical one in the simulator files. But Open Rocket doesn't have a way to do an ogive nose cone with a rounded tip. I'm guessing this nose cone might be close, even though it's shorter than shown in the simulation: http://www.erockets.biz/semroc-bals...-70-4-25-ogive/

I just measured the fins on my ATM and they do indeed appear to be 1/8" thick, allowing for paint.
