Thanks for the heads up. Which thinner is best for this, the Butyrate?

If you buy the butyrate sanding sealer, I’d recommend getting their butyrate thinner. If you do not think you’ll need to thin the sealer, lacquer thinner cleans brushes used with the sealer just fine. In fact, I use lacquer thinner for all my brush cleaning.

I fill an old Aerogloss sanding sealer bottle from the can of Brodak, and sometimes when it gets low, I’ll add a few drops of the Brodak thinner if it’s not brushing as smoothly as I like.

The picture of the product says, "butyrate dope," on the product label. Plus they recommend sealing "with clear dope" first, which is an indication that the sanding sealer is butyrate-based. You can paint butyrate over nitrate, but not nitrate over butyrate.
