Suggestion: disallow thread starters from rating ones own thread
Just as the title says and just a suggestion.
It would be nice if it was disallowed for original thread starters to rate their own threads "five stars" or anything else. There are certain NEWBIES/🤡 BOZOS that pull this sort of nonsense on every thread they author. I would much prefer no thread ratings whatsoever to that garbage/bunk/guff/felgercarb/nonsense/hawgwarsh.

I've never even paid attention to the stars, but now I'm going to go put 5 stars on the Weaver thread you gave 3 stars to.

I must have missed the rating system and ‘stars’. Where are they located??

Earl,
For me I can only see the thread rating when I access the thread from the main menu, not from today's posts or new posts. Also, once someone has rated the thread it does not allow me to add to the rating. It gives me an error saying I already rated the thread, even though I was not the one to rate it. |

Yeah, I took a closer look after I made my last post (and I see what you are saying, too) and I saw the thread rating pull down menu over to the right side of the top most message in a given thread, along with ‘Thread Tools’, ‘Search This Thread’, etc. I had never even noticed before that threads could be rated and had never even noticed the stars that ARE on some threads. It appears however that the vast majority of threads are not even rated. Maybe, like me, most folks have not notice the rating option. To be honest, I would not take much stock in how a given thread was ‘rated’ anyway. Earl

Try different browsers if it's not letting you see or do things. I've found that there are different features showing between Firefox and Chrome. Surely all of us nerdly rocket geeks have more than one browser installed.

Do you worry about which way the toilet paper hangs over the roll, too?

Yeah, I think they have 'been there' all along, I just haven't notice them before. And...that option only shows if you are logged in. I do a fair amount of YORF reading/browsing WITHOUT being logged in, so many, many viewing sessions where they do NOT show or at least the option to rate a thread does not show. Earl
