Default Toilet

My toilet was lose and I had a maintenance person come fix it. Upon pulling the toilet, this is what was beneath it. billspad will appreciate this pic!

From the title, I thought this was going to have a funny 'stinkum' story like an 'upper-dekker'.
I feel ripped-off.

Lookin' at that toilet flange-- I can guarantee there some "stinkum" coming up from there...

I hope someone had the common sense to make an alignment mark on the toilet or you'll never get it level.....

Make sure you use a "Seymour Butts" approved bowl gasket.

Shims on all sides of the flange means it's too high off the floor. The flange should be lowered and then use shims only if necessary to keep the bowl from rocking.

There was NOTHING WRONG with the original shimmed installation.

I haven't had to yank an "oval office" in several years. Is a wax "donut" still the norm or is there something better now?
