I hope so.
Many value these kits at about 10X the price I value them at.

Just because something is rare and old doesn't mean it has VALUE.
There are very few mint condition Ford Pintos or Plymouth Volares, but that does not mean anything regarding value.

Seriously...yeah, that’s probably the most I’ve seen for a single MPC Kit. And that one does not show up too often. I did see an MPC starter set go for that range just a couple months ago though, but it was a full starter set.

The MPC Starhawk is one that is very hard to find and I paid well into three figures for the one I got. The Viper is also hard to find and goes for pretty good dough, usually somewhere in the three figure range.

Ironically, I thought that was a relatively ugly looking kit.

Moon Go, Pioneer-1, Viper, all "pretty" in their own way. Not that. Which is why I owned those three, and never did get that one.

Agreed. While historically significant in the spread of model rocketry through retail, some of the MPC kit designs were a bit on ‘cobbled together’ side of things.

Most of their kits I would use for deliberate POWR-PRANGS.
That would be entertaining. B14-5 CHAD booster to C6-7. :

I have this one, and the one I have shows using the same Nose cone as the Moon-go, molded in gray. Cant see this one well but it looks to be molded in 3 pieces, like the Centuri/Estes Redstone, and in white. Did not know they ever did one that way. But without better pictures it is hard to see. My box on mine is not near as good as shape as this one though.

The Redstone Maverick was the very first MPC kit I purchased! I remember feverishly putting it together on our home's patio, working until it was dark out.

I took things very seriously as a nine year old, and wondered if the model was in any way based on a real rocket. I found the nose extension of the "Mercury" capsule puzzling.

I had pieces of that kit until about 20 years ago.
