Default Rocketry Blogs about Building & Flying Classic Kits

In a post I made in the Estes Pro Series Doorknob thread looking for an RSS reader to read rocketry blogs neil_w suggested Feedly and I use that and also the Reeder 4 iOS apps on my iPad. To be honest I haven’t used an RSS reader since Netscape and I am liking using these apps for reading blogs and to get the blog updates.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other blogs that I can add to the list in my app. So far this is a list of what I have that I am following.

Model Rocket Building, Chris Michielssen
http://modelrocketbuilding.blogspot.com/

Blast from the Past, Ed Mitton
http://castlerocketeer.blogspot.com/

Not Exactly Rocket Science, Bill Eichelberger
http://wallyum.blogspot.com/

Rocketeer's Corner, Bill Cooke
http://billsrockets.blogspot.com/

The Original Rocket Dungeon, Dick Stafford
https://rocketdungeon.blogspot.com/

Vintage Rocketry Retrospection, Switzerland [Not updated frequently but good Enerjet info. Bill E. recently posted about this blog in another thread]
http://rocketryretrospection.blogspot.com/

If you have any other blogs that you follow please post here I’d like to give them a visit. If you haven’t tried an RSS reader give it a try. I like the magazine type layout and getting regular updates pushed to the app.

Thanks guys!

That Bill E guy is an embarrassment to bloggers.
I started to blog about one of my Social Distancing launches last month and never got past the first flight. Too much other stuff going on. The good news is that we're supposed to do a club launch tomorrow, so I may have that to write about.

I like your blog ... just the right mix of rocketry and humor for me! Hey, this is supposed to be fun right?
Cool if you get to post about the club launch. The thing I like about the RSS readers I use I get a notification when you make that blog post and the app pulls it in. Even if you didn’t post it to YORF I will get it. I don’t need to keep checking all these different blog sites.

I have a friend in our club that said he was attending the SEARS launch in Alabama this weekend. Good to see some normalcy returning with guys getting back out to launch again. Very encouraging indeed

Shroudlines...The Blog

These were both referenced links on Bill Cooke’s Rocketeer’s Corner blog

It was NICE! Even with an abbreviated schedule due to some weather moving over the field I managed 11 flights. I prepped a lot on Thursday and Friday, so I was pumped and primed. Flight #12 cycled through several times as time ran out, so if not for a bad ignitor or pad issue, I had my shot at the dozen. Next launch in two weeks, so I better get prepping.

I finally got around to updating mine. This is my first one using nothing but photos from my phone, but I think it does a great job. Amazing how far that technology has come. I flew 11, six were first timers. Most of the rest had 10 years of dust to blow off of them.

Bill-
Great new blog flight report !
You got some good flights in.
I'd retire that Astron Streak; you don't wanna press your luck on those things.
I flew one ONCE on a "recommended" C6-7 fully intending for it to be "Fire and Forget".
It was out of sight immediately on launch, but it was dead calm and landed within 50' of the pad. Retired IMMEDIATELY in around 1983. Launched a streamer recovery Estes Polaris with a min-diameter 24mm mount on a D11-9 the same day and got it back. That one must have went almost 2000'. Would have never got back with Chute recovery even in calm conditions.

The SS Cassiopeia was the first kit I purchased from PDR as well.
I build HEAVY and that thing seems to get damage to the ring-fin area every flight. Needs to be upgraded from a 12" to 18" chute, but those things are hard to pack into a BT-50 with reliable deployment. Status: semi-retired.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I'm going to at least finish the Cassiopeia and get the decals on so it can fly as intended in full livery. This past flight had me thinking about rigging it to come down sideways like the Super Kits. I had two minimum diameter D flights that day. I'm curious as to how high they went. I still need to figure out the sweet spot for the Mega Mini Max. Pretty sure it isn't a D12-5. This will be the third body tube for this set of fins. Good thing I have a lot of scrap BT-50 sitting around.
