Estes Super Vega
We have a small field launch scheduled for this weekend. Not the small field as in B6-4 Field, but a soccer/football/baseball complex up in Dayton where I can stretch out a few of my mid-size birds. With that in mind, Sunday I began cleaning up my 1994 Estes Super Vega. I went a bit non-traditional back in 2001 when I finished it and turned it into a 3x18mm cluster. It's flown a few times, but nothing since 2004. I took it outside to respray the white base yesterday and found a broken fin, so the repaint has been moved back to this afternoon. Since it originally came with sticker decals, I scanned the set I'd managed to somehow keep from losing all these years. As a result, I've now got a decent set of waterslides. Hoping that between now and Saturday morning I can finally get things finished so I can fly it in full livery. Weather is going to be my potential bugaboo, one way or the other. We're going to get some rain sometime, just no telling how much.
