Back about 20 years when I started selling off all my early 1970's stuff (pre-BAR), I had an Enerjet F69 - still sealed in the box (at one time they came packaged in a display box sealed with shrinkwrap). At the time ebay wouldn't accept rocket motors so I put it up on another rocketry site. Two guys got in a bidding war for it and it sold for close to $200! I was shocked... I've still got a couple Enerjet motors around here somewhere (E's IIRC). I may fly one just for old time's |

Was there a change at some point that ebay allows model rocket motors to be listed/sold? What are the requirements if any ? I have a large box full of motors I do not think I will ever fly, some might be of value to others.

I don't believe the rules have changed. I think the eBay motor Nazi has just been slacking on his job reporting Annerjet Frank to the authorities.

Yeah, I am not sure what has happened in more recent years, but motor auctions certainly don’t seem to get pulled nearly as often as they used to. That is, unless someone rats...and that still happens every once in a while. But it seems the vast majority of motor listings stay in place until the auction closes out normally. I picked up seven Enerjet F motors just a couple weeks ago. Earl

Agreed - I think sometimes someone rats out the seller (maybe getting even with someone they don't like?) but I see lots of Estes motors and some Aerotech motors and reloads listed that don't get pulled. Most are priced too high, but that's the nature of ebay these days. |

Good Grief !
$601 for THAT pile of CRAPOLA ? Rare or NOT, that's not even interesting stuff. 6 old A8-3s, a payload section, and an Astron Scout kit ? Sheesh. The Scout may be the first Estes kit, but like the Alpha, I find zero interesting about it. I wouldn't have given $60.10 let alone $601. Somebody is Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

There are a few "holier than thou" / "goody two-shoes" types on certain forums that I would suspect of being "rats" / "snitches" about motor listings, on eBay . . . Especially if an item might "normally" require HAZMAT shipping. Dave F. |

Wow!
Looking at the bid history is absolutely fascinating. Two hours before the auction closed, when the high bid was 108.90, bidder s***s put in a bid of $600. One bidder then bid $128, and s***s was still the high bidder. Then, over the next two hours, the eventual winner placed 37 bids inching the price up to where he finally beat out s***s. Absolutely insane. This auction is total proof why if you are really interested in something on ebay you should only bid once, at the very last second. Use sniping software. If s***s had done that he would have won the auction, for $150 or so. Wow! |
