I used to buy Valspar spray paint at Lowe’s. Then it disappeared. The Valspar at Ace looked different. Maybe just packaging? This was also the case with the house paints— the Lowe’s Valspar colors we bought for interior use were not available from Ace (Lowe’s Valspar color sample name not among the Ace samples). If we need more, I do have the color mix.

Regarding white boards painted with color samples — I took a different approach. Every time we have a family BBQ, my wife buys plastic utensils. We have 1000s of each. I paint the white spoons with sample colors. I also use them when spraying Tamiya acrylics. For silvers, I use black spoons. And for metallics, I use some of those black spoons that have been painted silver.

This is a terrifying look behind the curtain.

I apologize. Another disturbing result of this is that at the BBQs the grandkids have to eat their ice cream with forks.

Make sure they chew it thoroughly. Good health begins with good mastication.

There for a while, Valspar had both enamel and lacquer rattle cans, but the lacquer was limited to a few colors. The farm implement and anti-rust rattle cans look completely different as well. Maybe you were seeing them in specialized packaging.

And.......voila!

I didn't do a thread on this build because the GG isn't technically challenging--just large.

I went with the Rusto Marigold Yellow that I had on hand because i had to get it topcoated before the snow struck us on Halloween. Note it's size in comparison to the 1/15 scale Pershing II. Another gage for size is the fact that those are 1 inch squares on my cutting mat.

Building note: I'm surprised (pleasantly) that these large decals are waterlide since the large decals of the DBRM are peel and stick. As we all know, large waterslide decals can be difficult to handle (for some.)

Mine's in primer, and I'll go with Ace "Autumn Gold" Enamel, close to Marigold Yellow. Have this on hand from building a standard size Goblin last year. The plan is to fly it next weekend. I used a Kevlar cord, and will substitute a LOC yellow nylon parachute for the red one, which moved to the BDRM for color coordination (the thick plastic Max chute has had problems opening fully).

I have a vintage Goblin in fluorescent yellow, which looks good too.
