Default MDRM decals? MDRM decals.

Now this is unexpected. New (and not yet in stock) on the Estes web site:
$7 each. “Waterslide decal now available separately. Need just one decal or need them all, we’ve got you covered now! Use them as replacements for your Mega Der Red Max or create a whole new rocket.”

Has Estes ever sold kit-specific decals separately before?

Well sure, they have always sold them. You just had to call them up and ask. I've bought several over the years this way, along with all the other bits and pieces of individual kits. The old Estes Custom Parts catalog listed individual decal sheets for specific models.

I guess I meant have they ever listed them as a catalog item... and it sounds like yes, from the Custom Parts catalog, with which I wasn't familiar. Thanks.

I think the last year the Estes put "kit decals" as a separate item in the CATALOG was around 1976 or 1977.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, and HAVOC !
