Actually, I’ve only built one sailboat...but I have also built one rowboat and a canoe.

All wood!

Sawdust is in my blood.

BTW, besides the boats and the vice, I restored a small dresser. That was a real puzzle. My wife and her sister were moving stuf out of their mother’s house when they tried to pick up an old dresser that lactually fell completely apart when they picked it up from the top.

It completely disassembled itself and I wound up getting 3 Broken drawers full of loose parts

I turned it into a stand for our tv.

Also...I restored a mid century card table and my wife’s old childhood dresser that was freaking old when she used it. I use it as a tool box in my shop.

I’ve made lots more stuff but I didn’t take pictures.

Guys,

You should see the bed he made for his granddaughter.

We should all be so lucky!

All the pics I have of the bed on on my wife’s pad...she is sending them to me as I type this.

It started out as a mid century 9 drawer dresser.

I cut the dresser up and stacked the drawer to fit under the end of the bed, added legs and made my granddaughter a loft bed. She now has a private lounge under her bed.

In the last photo you can see the stairs in the distance.

Nice!! Back in the late 1960's (in fact, right before I got hooked on model rocketry in 1969), my parents bought me a nice big kit of the CSS Alabama (Civil War era battleship) that was a real challenge to build. The finished model was a real pride to build and display.

Shortly before it was time to move (relocate, as my dad was retiring from the USAF) the model got knocked over from the display and landed hard on the floor, ruining the sailing masts and thread/strings I spent hours rigging up during the build. The damage from the fall was so severe that I knew there was no way it could be repaired. Sadly left it behind before the move.

Gordy,

Very nice! The bed is clever. I like the rest but that vise is something else.

Are those Billing Boats?

Bob

The bed is a combination of our old bed frame, the dresser was from a garage sale and a couple of 2x4’s for the legs.

The vice was left in a shed when my parents house was sold and they were going to tear the shed down. Rather then leave the vice in the rubble of the shed I got the vice...they didn’t care that I took it.

The boats are both from a company called Artesania Latina from Spain.
I am not real sure but I believe that the company Argesania Latina went out of business a little after the COVID stuff started.

My sister-in-law got them at an estate sale.

They are both RC models with plastic hulls.

If anyone is interested they are both for sale.
