Default Where has sandman been?

I am sorry but let’s face it , 2020 sucked way more than it needed to be.

I have been retired for almost 10 years now, my decal business was fun, selling the old kits I have was fun but I never felt....retired.

Like anybody I thought I would be working on MY projects that have piled up over the years I was working.

I love rockets and rocketry but I have a ton of other interests that were left with left lots of projects incomplete.

When COVID hit and my numerous medical issues I had no choice but to lock down.

Right after lock down began my sister in law left two very large boxes on my porch that she purchased at an estate sale.

The two boxes were large one+ meter long RC boats. There was one costal fishing boat and the other was a Danish built tug boat.

Each box was just full of lots of parts!

So there was the start of my absence from Ye Olde Forum.

Nice weather so I spent most of the last nine months out in my shop.

The kits were absolutely complete and of the finest quality. All I needed was glue and paint, oh yea and time. I got lots of that!

So here is the first one. This didn’t take long only about 3 months to complete.

Costal Fishing Trawler Hellen. I changed the name to “JENNY”.

Great Job my friend! Your rocket building skills are shining through.

I actually built the RC 55" USS Missouri and RC 50+ inch German Battleship Bismarck. Sold both of them.

The Bismarck was a 1200 scale true German model I got in Germany back in 77-1980.

Again, Great Job!

I never did one of these before. The two boats have all the running gear installed.

All you would need is a radio, receiver, servos and battery to make it go.

They are for sale.

More COVID projects.

This is a (according to the 1919 catalog) 101 year old vice I cleaned up and made a stand for.

It’s a strange vice. It can go up about 2 feet higher if you need it.

It says it was designed for 1919 era automotive repair shops.

Hey Gord-
Would you happen to have any Pre WWII Xacto catalogs, advertising, etc ?
I know someone with your background in woodworking may have some of this.

Beautiful, Gordy!

But the group needs to know you've built a couple of real (human sized) sailboats as well.

That does not surprise me in the least that Gord built full sized sailing vessels with his woodworking talent.
Now if we could just get him to re-issue some of his 4" LJ II kits.....
