Yeah, that one went steeper than I thought it might, but I figured the chance to get one still in the package would be slim to none. It is kind of surprising how in-often these come up for auction. I'm sure they sold a bunch of these back in the day, especially with sales through the Estes catalog to boot. It was not cheap back in the day and maybe that turned some folks off back then. I know it was outside my budget back in '76 - '78! But still, I suspect many were still sold during that time. I don't think I have ever seen more than 2-3 of them come up on ebay in the last 15 years.

Hi Earl,
That is a nice one! Just curious, do you think you will keep it sealed as a collector's item or do you think you will open and use that one?

Kind regards,

I’m not sure at this point. I’d like to open and use it to be honest; I build enough that it would come in handy and I like using vintage tools when I can. On the other hand, it is still sealed in the package, so I don’t know. I’ll take a close look at it once it arrives and decide then. But I’d really like to use it….

I really like vintage tools, and I'd use it.

I like using vintage tools also, so I would use it, too, if it was the only one I had. On the other hand, I already have a complete working Fin-Kwik already, so I would probably keep the sealed one in the package for historical preservation purposes.

I have one that I got in a box of vintage rocketry stuff off eBay a few years ago. I am missing a couple of the fin spring clips that hold the fin to the alignment tab. All the main parts are present except two of the spring clips. I have been going to get an 18 and 24 mm post made from aluminum that would attach with a screw up through the bottom made.
