Default Picture of Estes Display at NRSHA

Some interesting things here to unpack...MAV Lander, the Zed sci-fi style rocket, update/upscale of the Gyroc?, another 13mm “cult” rocket in the making with the Orange Bullet...and is that an Interceptor-style nose cone pointing skyward on the far left? Also, what’s that long silver and orange/red rocket resting on the yellow stand? Will we see a general release of the Green Eggs egg lofter?

Before the usual grousing about Estes E2X kits gets started I’m going to give some love to the Destination Mars MAV - I think Estes is on the right track creating their own trademarked line of pseudo realistic rockets centered on exploring Mars. Why put money into licensing fees when you can put it into nifty new nose cone and fin designs! The MAV may not be the cup of tea for grizzled, steely eyed rocketeers with balsa dust in their lungs and sanding sealer in their veins but it could be the perfect way to get a model rocket in the hands of nine year old Space-X fans.

Looking at the instructions for the Tazz, I’m liking those locking plastic hooks for the fin tab rubber bands! Still lots of balsa to fill and sand on the Tazz but those little plastic thingies should make it less fiddly to get this to work right.

I do wish Estes would offer alternate graphics/decals - the scheme on the Tazz is nice but this would look good with updated GYROC decals too. Just a wish, not going to keep me from adding one to the build pile.

The MAV nosecone looks like a re-imagined Orion cone.

I'm really interested in the one in between the "Tazz" and "Gryphon". I can't make that out clearly enough, but "IED", I believe?

The kit in-between the Tazz and the Gryphon is called the "LEO Space Train"

TAZZ is all caps.

Cato is not...unless it is the kit.

Not a peep from the WB attorneys. Good.
