Remember the Big Bang Theory episode with Wolowitz and Sheldon looking through the bin of comic books? That's my Semroc kit inventory. Got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it, got it.

Bob, I did the same thing. Originally I wanted to buy up missing models for my "1968 Centuri Catalog" fleet and discovered that certain models were being discontinued. Others just had a nice discount. I strongly suspected the ones with a nice discount were being discontinued, which turned out to be true.

Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Scrambler™ SEM-KV-34 Discontinued
Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Aerobee-Hi™ SEM-KV-2 Discontinued
Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Egg Crate™ KV-39 Discontinued
Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Lil Hercules™ KV-14 Discontinued
Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit Midget™ SEM-KV-68 Discontinued
Semroc Flying Model Rocket Kit WAC Corporal™ KD-1 Discontinued

Folks may want to pick these up for their collection/future building.

Looking at the eRockets ‘Clearance’ page(s) tonight, looks like they have added even more Semroc kits to the discontinued category, based on a number of additional discontinued instruction sheets listed there. Checking those particular kits on their website, they too have considerable discounts on them as well.

If this is indeed the case, the number of Semroc kits will be down *considerably* compared to the number in existence when eRockets bought the line.

Hmmmmm....

I estimate about 25% of them are discontinued - the bottom 25%.

I think the list grew. I count 90 Semroc kits that are currently available. I estimate that at least 35%, possibly up to 44%. I don't blame Randy if he has to discontinue poorly selling products to keep his business profitable. Most of these kits are hardly more than 3FNC rockets that are easily cloned. These kits had a extended run that lasted years - sometimes even years longer than the orginal kit was available.

This is a list of what I speculate or have confirmed are discontinued. Confirmed if the face card or other direct evidence says they are discontinued. Speculative ? if a kit has a deep discount like the discontinued kits, but its face card or parts haven't been listed as discontinued.

It's a sales ploy (well probably not) ... but it got me to buy a BALSA nose cone Goblin I wouldn't have otherwise.

I think the saving grace (I hope) is that Randy has all the patterns, instruction sheet master files, etc. that if he wanted to re-introduce any given kit, he probably can without too very much difficulty. Like 'limited run special editions' type thing, that, on an on-going basis in the future might prove to be a profitable thing for him.

Estes has done that now for a number of years obviously with certain kits, the Saturn V being probably one of the most visible of those re-re-re-introduced kits.
