We've seen those fins before. At first I thought Magnum Hornet, but it's BT-50/ST-9 based.

I think this kit used the same fiber fin set used in the Arrow 300 three stage kit and the Buck Rogers Laser Lance kit.

Didn't the SoA come near the end of Centuri? If so, would it have used mostly Estes parts?

From the catalog description, it appears that the Spirit of America used Estes BT-50 and a blow molded PNC-50Y.

Yeah, I think it was out only for like '81 through the end in '83.

Question So... Did anybody ever find a clear copy?

Over on TRF, I managed to find a thread that had really small (read: unreadable) scans of the plans. I can't find anything else on the regular sites about this rocket.

Here's what I've got, rotated from the original thread:

Click images then when your at (the now very hard to use NEW) Flickr, right click and view either the Large (or Original Image) to get the best view I have.

Oh, here's the Centuri 1981 Catalog's entry for the SOA (from Estes) (page 12)

And the 82's entry (page 12)

Thanks
Jim

Default Spirit of America Clone

I had the Spirit of America model way back when, I think I got to fly it 2-3 times before the fins started to look bad. So I cleaned it up and put it on a shelf only to lose it to a house fire.
I have been building / cloning a lot of the kits that I lost to the fire, I did not think of this one
thank you for reminding me.
the model should be an easy clone, except I checked Gordy and he does not list the decals.
I did not check with any other decal vendors so if anyone knows where to locate the decals
please share the info. good luck with your build.

P.S. if any one has a set of Decals, maybe they could send a scan of the decals to Gordy
and he might add them to his inventory.

Hi Neal,

Over on TRF, Gord stated that he had the decals ready as of April 10th, this year. There's a nice scan of the decals on that thread...

Sorry to hear about the fire. I've been in two, but fortunately they were both caught and extinguished before I suffered any losses.

I have to get it posted on my web site.

I keep forgetting.
