Default Vintage Estes Pathfinder Build

Here are some pictures of the simple Estes Pathfinder build OOB with all the included parts. As always the build is KISS and there were no issues. After she was all built I brushed on 3 coats of Brodak Balsa sealer for smooth finish followed by Krylon Acryli Quik white, orange and Testors Silver. The old decals went on with no issues. This is a large rocket as you can see next to my Der Red Max. I really like the look, but I think I really like my short version with the Estes PNC-60RL nose cone.

Very nice, this was a very popular kit in our club in the 90's, many were flown.

That paint scheme is "satisfying" to me for lack of a better word to describe it. It looks good.

I picked up a built one in an eBay lot a few years back. I was in the process of building one, but I took this to Muncie to fly one weekend. Never occurred to me that the glue might be old and brittle. Flew fine, but at ejection the upper section separated and flew off into a nasty little field of sticker bushes. Easy fix, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Very Nice!

I have one to build in the near future; one of Estes's better looking models from that era.

Looks great. I am trying Brodak for the first time tomorrow. Your three coats of Brodak and your painted finishes are always glass smooth. I’ve never tried the Krylon Acryli Quik paints.

Nice looking build..... I have one I want to restore - original kit was built with fins flush at rear so it would stand up in the rocket room.
My 2x upscale was built to match, both have custom paint - want to restore both.
Anyone have a partial set of decals ? or good scans ?
