Hey, I found the scale data for the paint pattern!!!

That's where the color scheme came from. Since we can't use the words. U.S. ARMY without paying royalty fees I figure we would just do this color scheme.

New tooling for blow molded nose cone and tail cone.

I'm still thinking of building one with the colors of the Atomic Fireworks store Honest John on in South Pittsburgh, TN, when I went to NARCON-91. Back then it was solid yellow with red "FIREWORKS" lettering, then it was a garish red-white-and-blue. Now it's white with red nose and fins (to see the latest view, go to maps.google.com and look for 1590 S Cedar Ave, South Pittsburgh, TN, or 34.995429,-85.718074, and go to Street View)

Not as much fun as the fireworks one, but here is one in a park in Illinois.

You realize, of course, that both of those paint schemes are perfectly legitimate Sport Scale entries in NAR competition!

This is the one that I want to do. Scott "Beer Skunk" McCrate tipped me off to it a few years back. It's about an hour south of Lexington, KY off of I-75 at Rockcastle County High School. I'd been there for a football game a couple of years earlier, but I was apparently the only one in the car that missed it because everyone else remembered it.

That was why the Mini Hojo had decals that said "U.S. MILITARY". Your tax dollars at work.

The nice thing about the "US MILITARY" decal is that it includes all the letters needed to create one that reads "US ARMY". So, it's not a complete loss.

The ultimate irony is that our tax dollars pay for the U.S. Army in toto. Seems more fitting that we should get a tax deduction for buying products that incorporate the term "U.S. ARMY".

Oh, sorry, that would make complete sense. Never mind!

That's great... let someone "cut-n-paste" the decals to make it say "US ARMY" without the company having to pay a royalty... I like that!

They could issue decals for different kits that need them that say "US AIREAL FORCES" or "US NAVAL YARDS" as well so that they could be cut down (if desired) to read "US AIR FORCE" or "US NAVY" as needed...

The requiring of royalties for anything with US military names on it has to be THE STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard of... course given the current penchant for galactic stupidity at the highest levels of gubbamint in this country, and the insatiable greed at every level, can't say it surprises me...

Later! OL JR
