50 Years Ago Today, Wedsworth-Townsend Act
Fifty years ago today, the Wedsworth-Townsend Act was signed by Governor Ronald Reagan. This Act paved the way for California's first paramedic program in LA County, and eventually, the greatest TV show of all time, IMHO. The show probably launched a million careers and volunteers in the form of Dr.'s, nurses, paramedics, EMT's, and firefighters. I know what it did for me.

+ 1 to the previous two responses. One thing about the show that interesting was how the ambulances and hospital attire changed during the series run.

And how well Dixie aged. Julie London was already about 45 when the show started in 1972.
