[YARID] Fat, short, stubby rocket
I know, most of us fit the description above. Some of us more so than others. Oh, well. (heavy sigh)
I can picture the rocket below (which I've crudely sketched), but for the life of me, I can't find it while searching Google for "model rocket short fat" or "model rocket stubby." Please notice that the nose cone is first cylindrical, then conical with a rounded tip. Yet Another Rocket ID, please? Thanks in advance, as always.

I can think of a few that resemble that. Got a diameter, era, or manufacturer you can help with? The first one that pops in my head is the Lil' Ivan. I'm guessing you are thinking of a larger diameter kit, though.
Oh, just noticed the NC description.

The D.A.R.T. was next to pop in my head, but the fins aren't the same and the tip of the NC is sharp.
You drew Pipsqueak fins, btw.

But that nose cone keeps bugging me. I scoured both Quest and Custom, and came up empty. I wish I could think of a manufacturer or diameter, but I got nothin'. Era? Maybe the last 20 years or so, but since "Time keeps on slippin'..." (shrug) Quote:
Thanks for playing, tbzep.

Jay, the first thing that came into my mind when I saw your sketch was the little Odd'l Rockets Squatty Body: https://www.rocketreviews.com/oddl-...tt-gillard.html

I remember it now that it has been posted, however, I would never have come up with it. I don't see enough photos of Oddl kits for them to stick in my head.

So this made me want to go dig mine out and since I was going flying today, I took it with me. Nice flight on a B6-4 - actually quite a nice one, even if the shock cord got all twisted and tangled on the descent.
For those unfamiliar with the model, the base is BT-55. That "actual size" sticker is 1 inch in diameter. According to my notations on the bottom, this is S/N 20 and I finished it on August 13th, 2010. It's been nearly that long since it was last flown....

Thanks for sharing the launch and recovery photo. That is an interesting and clever design on that kit, what with the large, long nose cone and an internal 'stuffer tube', for lack of a better descriptor. I assume the streamer is stored around that internal tube during launch? Earl
