So here's what I did on the fins:
I had a set of fins from Semroc that have been sitting on my desk for at least a year. I used them as patterns for two more sets. 1) Cut them out of 1/8 basswood; 2) Using the laser tabs on the edge of the Semroc fins, I drew pencil lines for the facets; Note, I drew the lines more like Terrier fins than Nike but I figure either way looks cool. 3) I used an almost worn-out fine sanding drum on my old Dremel, set on the lowest r.p.m. setting it would maintain; 4) I made a pass on the very leading edge and with each successive pass, worked toward the pencil line; 5) Each pass was in the same direction; 6) I went slowly. It took a while but, hey, there's only three fins. The picture shows the rockets and my spare set of fins. If you zoom in you can see the faint pencil lines for the facets. Today, I'll add the launch lugs and glue in the engine mounts. A small beef is that the tubes should fit together snugly, the ST-11 into the ST-13 coupler into the ST-13. None of them are snug.
